How is the chalet different from my city home?

  • The Municipality of Trent Lakes has a very strictly enforced noise bylaw.  Remember, quiet time extends from 10 pm until 7 am the next morning.  Please adhere to this rule by not yelling/shouting, not playing music etc. during this time.

  • The cottage is on a septic system.  This system cannot handle sanitary napkins, tampons, paper towels, flushable wipes etc.  Please flush only what the septic system was designed for human waste and toilet paper.  Also, please avoid dumping grease or any chemicals down the kitchen drains.  It only takes one sanitary napkin to jamb an impeller on the pump, which would result in a major expense and inconvenience (digging up the septic system during vacation + deduction from damage deposit = no fun). Thanks very much for sharing this information with all guests!

  • Garbage should be stored, temporarily, in the shed.  Please keep the door shut, especially at night, or you will attract unwanted forest visitors.  Please remove any garbage by the end of your rental period.

  • Please do not feed any wildlife including ducks or geese.

  • Please have fires in the fire pit only.  Be aware of any possible fire bans. You need to fill up a burn permit every time you light one. Prefilled burn permits are kept on top of the fridge. Just add your date to one and then call The Permittee or his/her agent shall call 1-800-374-4009 ext 301 or 1-705-738-3800 ext 301 before commencing burning and when finished burning on each day.

  • Please refer to FAQ for additional rules and regulations.
